Food Pantry

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.  If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.                                 Romans 12:6-8

Kings Food Pantry in South Lebanon

The Kings Food Pantry is dedicated to helping feed hungry residents living within Kings Local School District.   Deerfield UMC has had a long and fruitful relationship with the food pantry.  With guidance from the staff at the pantry, we highlight one or two items each month that the members of the congregation can bring in to donate.  On top of this, we sponsor two food drives a year that challenge the congregation to donate items in fun and creative ways.  Whether it is filling a canoe or wrapping the donated items around the church sanctuary, the congregation enjoys stocking the shelves of the food pantry.

Acts 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  This month’s food pantry drive is focusing on “household cleaning products.”  Some examples of needed supplies are: paper towels, dish soap, Lysol, laundry detergent, and bathroom cleaner.  Please contact Stephanie Copley or Barb Dixon with questions.
